Information technology'due south the Little Things… and How They Grow: A fun and simple activity for mommas (and daddies) to do with their kids that tin be cherished and remembered.
Parenting. It can come with and so many cherishable moments in life. Some that are "big," moments similar vacations, the first twenty-four hours of school, and those kickoff birthdays. Only and so there are the small, sometimes unexpected, and unpredictable moments that are cherishable beyond measure.
It's the Little Things… and How They Grow
During storytime with my boys the other night, I decided to get on their level, and tell a story to them that would cause giggles-galore. We literally all laughed so hard, that at that place were tears in our eyes. Then, my giggle-tears, quickly turned in to joyful-tears.
Lately, I had been going almost things all incorrect. I had thought that I had to do something Big for my kiddos for them to enjoy and cherish. But I quickly realized that my little guys didn't demand something large. They just wanted my time, and to feel the "little things," to feel loved and of import. They talked well-nigh our trivial story-time moment, for DAYS.
Its piddling moments similar these that help me realize that they're apace growing up right before my optics. With the busyness of the day-to-day, sometimes I can utilize quick little reminders like these to capeesh those little moments and activities likewise.
Our house is STOCKED with Mott'due south at all times. If we run out, it'south a mandatory trip to the grocery shop!
Dedicated Mommy-Fourth dimension
The other day, I had planned to spend some defended 1-on-1 time with the boys. I had a few other things going on, where I couldn't go out the business firm, nor plan a HUGE activity at dwelling house. But it was fourth dimension to ready bated some dedicated "mommy-time," with my boys, so I needed something piece of cake and fun that we could do at home together.
Remembering the "little thing," of "telling them a funny story the other night," meant So much to them, I began to recall about what little activity we could practice that day.
A Little Lunch…
Now a paper plate tiffin would have been Just every bit fine with my trivial guys, for our little picnic that twenty-four hour period. Simply I sort of have an obsession with cute nutrient packaging, which leaves me with a closet full of paper goodies.
So when they were behaving so well, playing in the other room, I decided to put a little actress character in to their picnic dejeuner.
The looks on their faces when I handed them their own boxed lunch, was priceless. To which my youngest said,
This is for me!?
It's the footling things… remember?
A Lunch of Their Favorites:
Drink of choice: Mott'due south Apple tree Juice, which is a-ok with me because information technology'south total of real fruit goodness and is an fantabulous source of vitamins to help the petty guys grow strong and healthy!
Vegetable of selection: Carrot Sticks. We like carrot sticks much more than babe carrots. They're so full of flavor!
Side dish of choice: Mott's Unsweetened Apple Sauce. When I find a nutrient that my kids dearest, AND it'due south healthy… it'southward a win-win!
Main Dish of Choice: Peanut Butter Sandwich. I'm pretty certain they'd swallow a peanut butter sandwich, with every meal, for every 24-hour interval, for the rest of their lives.
The little turkeys ate it up! (The tiffin and the fun!)
Go along it Simple:
Now you don't have to make a boxed lunch like I did, and you don't even have to go all out and brand a picnic similar we did. I've realized that my growing boys just like to accept my dedicated attention. If I can requite them that, then all is adept in their globe.
For me, I'll just endeavor to keep on hanging on to their "littleness," as long as I can.
1 More Tip when it Comes to Mott's:
I admire keeping the picayune Mott'due south Apple Sauce pouches in the car for on-the-become snacks. When the motorcar is stocked, we have the choice to be healthy, and snack on these, instead of grabbing something that may not be equally healthy. They're wonderful to catch-and-get.
